The 2000 V70R was imported to the U.S. in fairly small numbers. Less than 500 made it across the pond into the U.S. It was available in Black, Silver, Red, Green, and Blue. Black and Silver were the two most common colors, with the Red, Green and Blue being less common. There are probably about 50 in Laser Blue. Ever since the first time I saw one of the Laser Blue R's I knew I wanted to get one. There was only one problem with that, I was unable to find one and at the time they were out of my price range anyway. So in 2002 I picked up a 1997 855R instead. Ever since then I had been keeping my eye out for a Laser Blue 2000 V70R until 2006 when I started looking seriously. After looking seriously for a few months I finally found my car in June 2006.

I bought the car on Jun 12th from the original owner. He had the original window sticker and all the car's service records from one Volvo dealership. It had 78,133 miles on it. For the first few months it just sat in my garage waiting. I started to accumulate parts for it and after a few months I was ready to start.
